2021-22 Programming Theme Announced

August 31, 2021

We at the RCAH Center for Poetry believe that poetry has the potential to raise awareness, stimulate new ways of thinking and knowing, and galvanize change. With this in mind, we are delighted to announce that our 2021-22 programming theme is Poetry of Witness, Poetry of Resistance. In the spirit of “stimulating new ways of thinking and knowing,” the Center for Poetry hopes to encourage dialogue between poets who approach their work and the themes of witness and resistance from different vantage points, as well as with diverse audiences and communities—a generative experience for everyone.

The Poetry of Witness, Poetry of Resistance series begins on Wednesday, October 6 with a virtual appearance by poet and MSU professor of English Divya Victor and filmmaker, author, and teacher Serena Chopra. The evening will conclude with a conversation moderated by Center for Poetry director Lauren Russell.

Details are available on our Events page.
